Director, Software Engineering - Enterprise AI for Operations

Director of Software Engineering within Enterprise AI and Emerging Technologies, leading the development of cutting-edge AI solutions while maintaining a hands-on technical presence

• Lead and develop engineering teams revolutionizing the insurance industry through the power of artificial intelligence
• Maintain hands-on technical involvement in engineering decisions, code reviews, and development of automation and AI solutions
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify and prioritize AI opportunities that drive business value
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices for AI development, deployment, and monitoring across teams
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels, conducting performance reviews and creating growth plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues, leading incident response when necessary
• Champion uses of Artificial Intelligence across the enterprise through education, coaching, and advocacy
• Manage resources effectively while balancing business objectives and the production of high-quality deliverables which adhere to standards and policies

• 5 years of related experience; including insurance/financial services industry experience
• Demonstrated track record implementing current technology trends and techniques in the Artificial Intelligence and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), including Kubernetes, Python, Docker, AWS, LLMs, etc.
• Experience working with stakeholders to identify opportunities to educate on risks and opportunities in the delivery of AI-based solutions
• Passion for Artificial Intelligence and for driving the adoption of AI-based technologies to improve business processes and outcomes
• Critical-thinking engineering mindset and ability to triage problems which may be best solved by AI-solutions and those where more traditional solutions may be appropriate
• Experience with enterprise-scale AI implementations
• Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases
• Background in building AI solutions for operational efficiency
• Track record of successful stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
