About the role
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to support a new behavior-focused classroom within a K-12 school setting in Anniston, AL. This unique role involves providing consistent behavioral support in a specialized environment where students actively engage throughout the day, similar to an occupational therapy room. The position requires either a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct behavioral interventions and support to students in a dedicated behavior classroom.
- Manage the classroom environment to foster positive student engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with supervising BCBA (for RBT applicants) to ensure proper oversight and adherence to intervention plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data collection aligned with grant requirements.
- Engage with students individually as they come throughout the day, offering consistent and effective behavioral support.
Requirements
- Current certification as an RBT or BCBA in good standing.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a behavioral or special education setting.
- Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
- Ability to work independently within a classroom environment while maintaining effective communication with supervisory staff.
- Flexibility to work full-time, six hours per day, Monday through Friday.
