About the role

The Toxics Cleanup Program is seeking a Remedial Action Grant (RAG) Manager to provide financial oversight and support for key grant programs, including RAG and affordable housing grants.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee grants and amendments, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Review payment requests and progress reports within required timeframes, verifying eligibility and proper documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance to grant recipients and Ecology staff on program requirements, financial procedures, and use of the Ecology Administration of Grants and Loans (EAGL) system.
  • Respond to recipient and applicant questions to help navigate program policy, financial requirements, and EAGL processes.
  • Conduct timely peer reviews of grants prepared by other managers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update program resources, including the Grant Manager’s Toolkit, training materials, and SharePoint content.
  • Serve as an EAGL super-user, supporting both program staff and external partners.
  • Assist in developing EAGL solicitations, guidelines, and other program materials.
  • Represent the program by attending Ecology’s Grant Group meetings and other collaborative forums.
  • Lead solicitation development, policy updates, and document publication for Independent Remedial Action Grants.
  • Prepare clear, concise written communications and deliver presentations for a variety of audiences.

Requirements

  • Nine years of experience and/or education as described below:
  • Experience in land use, urban, regional, environmental, or natural resource planning, and/or program development, land use or environmental law, public administration with an environmental emphasis, or closely related experience.

  • Education involving a major study in financial management, land use, urban, regional, environmental, or natural resource planning, land use or environmental law, public administration with an environmental emphasis, or closely related field.
