About the role
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to support a self-contained elementary program within a school setting in Aurora, Illinois. This contract position begins November 1 and continues through the remainder of the school year, providing an excellent chance to impact students’ communication development in a structured educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect speech and language therapy services to elementary students within a self-contained classroom.
- Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations and create individualized treatment plans tailored to students’ needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to enhance student progress and learning outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports in a timely manner.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to goal setting and educational planning.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Illinois SLP license
- ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience in school-based or pediatric clinical settings
- Demonstrated strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
