About the role

Responsible for providing close surveillance of EKG monitors and communicating rhythm status to nurses. This position ensures accurate monitoring and timely reporting of any changes in patient rhythms. This role adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting body standards. In addition, this position actively participates in providing outstanding customer service. Additionally, this role maintains respectful relationships with all individuals. Responsibilities for this role include monitoring EKGs, reporting rhythm changes, adhering to regulations, providing customer service, and maintaining respectful relationships.

Observes monitors, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG patterns, and promptly notify nursing staff of any abnormalities. Mains monitor alarms per policy, verifies that alarms are set and audible every shift, and troubleshoots monitors as needed. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities, demonstrating accurate documentation and monitoring of activities, and supporting departmental quality standards and initiatives. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills, performing other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Minimum qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Basic EKG class or equivalent knowledge.
