Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal assistant to the Payroll Manager and perform professional-level accounting, financial review, and analysis of accounting, payroll, and fiscal data.
- Assist in monitoring work performed by other fiscal staff.
- Participate as a member of the payroll leadership team.
- Develop, refine, and implement payroll processes.
- Provide backup coordination and oversight with the processing of employee pay, shared leave, retirement plan contributions, health insurance payments, employee death benefits, and other employee pay.
Requirements
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Access.
- A minimum of one year working with automated accounting systems and knowledge of procedures.
- Experience reconciling general ledgers.
- Knowledge of payroll tax procedures.
- Experience recognizing and solving difficult and complex accounting problems, providing sound advice and recommendations to leadership relative to financial business matters.
- Ability to analyze, resolve, and communicate clearly complex fiscal information.
