Laboratory Technician

Works independently and performs a wide range of medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease

• Works independently and performs a wide range of medical laboratory tests and procedures
• Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care
• Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly
• Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing according to established procedures
• Maintains accurate documentation in accordance with accrediting body and laboratory policy

• Associate degree or higher required
• Clinical Lab Scientist Certificate within 12 months of hire from National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel
• Medical Technologist Certificate within 12 months of hire from American Society for Clinical Pathologists
• Medical Lab Technician ASCP Certification within 12 months of hire from American Society for Clinical Pathologists
