Management of Mobility, Deputy Director (WMS Band 4)

WSDOT is excited to announce an outstanding leadership opportunity for a dynamic leader to serve as the Deputy Director of the Management of Mobility (MoM) Division.

• Manage division finances and oversee the daily operations on behalf of the Director.
• Develop planning and land-use strategies for the Cascadia High-Speed Rail and I-5 Program, including engagement with WSDOT regions, Headquarters, MPOs, and RTPOs along the I-5 corridor
• Cultivate and maintain internal and external partnerships to create innovative strategies that enhance mobility and safety throughout the Central Puget Sound transportation network.
• Lead and facilitate working groups across internal teams and interagency partners, including senior leadership.
• Direct the development of multimodal corridor projects and targeted planning efforts to improve equitable access and implement a complete street approach.
• Ensure execution of policies in alignment with the department’s strategic plan, particularly focusing on safety, pedestrian experience, complete streets, and inclusive outreach.
• Provide strategic guidance for developing near-term operational infrastructure and program investment plans.
• Direct plans to transition HOV, HOT, and Express Toll Lanes into an integrated, coordinated managed lanes system.
• Champion the exploration and implementation of innovative technologies, including complete street projects with local communities, connected/autonomous vehicle applications, smart city initiatives, and other transportation management innovations.
