Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements long-range operational and capital facility plans
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to establish shared goals and policies
  • Conducts site inspections and analyzes planning data
  • Prepares recommendations for budgets and capital planning activities
  • Represents DES in reviewing and providing recommendations on local and regional plans
  • Supports development and updates of comprehensive plans
  • Coordinates materials for meetings and outreach events
  • Represents DES at tribal, federal, state, regional, and local meetings
  • Assists with budget preparation and reporting
  • Reviews fiscal data and maintains positive budget positions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with major study in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, planning, or closely related field
  • Three years of professional experience in civil design, engineering, planning, or related field
  • Knowledge of facility and asset management, building system operations, facility planning, data analysis, civil engineering practices, and compliance with state public works laws and regulations
  • Skills in stakeholder engagement, customer relations, interpreting technical plans and data, and developing/maintaining infrastructure systems
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to apply knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and engineering principles
  • Ability to lead and manage projects, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
