About the role

Food Service Worker, On-Call at Washington Soldiers Home

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents are given nutritional meals, snacks and supplements
  • Safely prepare food and monitor storage methods, food production and holding temperatures
  • Perform simple cooking
  • Monitor refrigeration units for outdated products
  • Set up and serve food orders
  • Refill condiments and napkins
  • Set up and monitor salad bar
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and area
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain a Washington state food worker card
  • Must be proficient in the English language
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • One (1) year of experience in a food establishment
  • Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check
  • Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening
  • Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
