                            About the role
A Flex DFM Engineer possesses a deep knowledge of the processes and materials used to create flexible printed circuits. The engineer will provide maintenance of Apple's general specification and design guidelines for flexible printed circuits and design rule roadmap. The engineer will analyze defects in flexible printed circuits and maintain leadership of improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance of Apple's general specification and design guidelines for flexible printed circuits
 - Analyze defects in flexible printed circuits and maintain leadership of improvement activities
 - Collaborate with flexible printed circuit vendors on development projects
 - Qualify vendor manufacturing sites and lines
 - Review vendor design feedback and analyze vendor capability
 - Implement design improvements
 
Requirements
- Proven understanding of the link between flex design rules, industry capability, and manufacturing processes
 - Engineer with at least 3-10 years of applicable experience
 - BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering
 - Experience with antenna-related flexes
 - Demonstrated knowledge of cause and effect relationship between manufacturing practices and defect modes
 - Familiarity with surface mount assembly of flexible circuits
 - Established capability in statistical methods of data analysis
 - Knowledge of industry specifications for flexible printed circuits and assemblies
 - Experience with Allegro, Valor, NX8, and JMP
 - Strong communication skills
 - Ability to work constructively with others
