AdventHealth Redmond is a 230 bed facility, serving as a regional referral source for all of northwest Georgia and parts of Alabama. AdventHealth Redmond offers a full array of inpatient and outpatient programs, many of which are unique to the northwest Georgia region. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, Redmond provides a full-service cardiology product line and is nationally recognized as a top cardiac center. The role you'll contribute: Ensures confidentiality of employee, patient, and hospital information. Cross-trains in admitting/emergency room for assistance as needed. Assigns diagnosis codes based on physician orders for various patient types. Reviews and updates assigned reports in timely manner. Collects accurate data from patients and verifies patient eligibility during pre-registration and registration. Meets pre-certification requirements according to insurance specifications. Determines financial class and payor codes, and communicates financial policies to patients. Assesses authorization needs to ensure payment from payors. Performs clerical duties for admitting and registering patients. Assist self-pay patients in completing financial questionnaires. Records primary care physician referrals in the log. Ensures appropriate patient flow to nursing. Other duties as assigned. The value you'll bring to the team: The Patient Service Representative is responsible for performing pre-registry, insurance verification, registry, pre-certification, in-house follow-up, and discharge for patients in a pleasant and accurate manner. This position handles payments and valuables from patients. This role acts as a cashier for the organization. In addition, this position ensures all patient information is accurately recorded and processed. Additionally, this role provides excellent customer service to patients and their families.
