About the role
The Senior Manager, Employee Relations leads and mentors a team of Employee Relations investigators in investigating complex and sensitive matters throughout UDX operations. The Senior Manager will serve as a neutral party to investigate and facilitate the resolution of concerns of Team Members and managers, involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Employee Relations investigators
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Employee Relations team, setting priorities, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring accountability
- Build relationships and collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners, UDX operations leadership, NBCU Legal, and NBCU Fair Employment Practices
- Conduct in-depth interviews and investigations, including gathering and evaluating information; preparing reports, determining facts; conferring with operations leadership and HR Business Partners regarding case findings and recommended disciplinary actions
- Provide guidance and direction to senior operations management and HR Business Partners on all matters related to Employee Relations
- Ensure fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices, and legal compliance
- Analyze aggregate casework data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive issue mitigation
- Share recommended actions with Human Resources Business Partners and UDX operations leadership
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high-quality HR services in a fast-paced, high-change environment
- Strong facilitation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrates vertical flexibility – Ability to shift focus from big picture to “getting things done” as necessary
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with an HRMS such as SAP and Oracle
- Experience in the hospitality industry is highly preferred
- Ability to develop integrated solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
- 7+ years of progressive Employee Relations experience, including significant experience conducting investigations
- 3+ years of leading a team of Employee Relations professionals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to earn trust and work successfully on a wide range of Team Member issues
