Risk Adjustment Analyst in Remote, | Information Systems at Ascension
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Extracting, analyzing, and synthesizing large sets of claims, clinical, and enrollment data to identify trends, discrepancies, or gaps in documentation and coding.
- Reporting: Developing and maintaining various reports and dashboards (ad-hoc and production) to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and estimate impact.
- Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with risk adjustment leads, coding teams, clinicians, data managers, and other stakeholders to resolve data quality issues, provide feedback, and communicate findings to management.
- Assists in evaluating proposals for data collections through an understanding of the functional area’s business and applications needs.
- Assists in planning and implementing activities required for the collection and analysis of data related to departmental business needs, including the development of data collection systems.
- Maintain specific departmental data collection systems (eg, databases and spreadsheets) by troubleshooting problems, providing user support and education and promoting integration with other systems.
- Develops and runs basic queries and other data collection spreadsheets to support assigned business areas and organizes them in a format for ease of review and use.
- Distills business processes to key functions and create and document processes to identify opportunities to automate and/or improve an existing process.
- Assist in conducting complicated and detailed analyses of data relative to the applicable business function.
Requirements
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to gather, interpret, and analyze complex data to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, MS Excel, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
- Healthcare Knowledge: A solid understanding of healthcare industry standards, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and risk adjustment models (CMS HCC, ACA HHS-HCC) is essential.
