Special Ed Teacher | Richmond, Virginia

This position offers an opportunity to support K-12 students in a Special Education environment with a focus on Elementary or Middle School caseloads. The role requires a dedicated professional committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for students with diverse educational needs. This is a full-time contract opportunity for the current school year.

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities
• Participate in team meetings and communication with parents/guardians to support student development
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for K-12 education
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of various instructional strategies and behavior interventions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs
