About the role
This position offers an opportunity to support K-12 students in a Special Education environment with a focus on Elementary or Middle School caseloads. The role requires a dedicated professional committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for students with diverse educational needs. This is a full-time contract opportunity for the current school year.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities
- Participate in team meetings and communication with parents/guardians to support student development
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
Requirements
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for K-12 education
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of various instructional strategies and behavior interventions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs
