About the role
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration, entering patient information into the practice's designated system, requesting and collecting co-pays/outstanding balances at the time of check-in/check-out. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients and support staff. The value you'll bring to the team: Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls appropriately. Welcomes patients; updates, verifies, and enters patient demographics, insurance, and billing information and processes forms into appropriate systems. Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy, facilitates timely discharge, and maximizes reimbursement. Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits memos are clear, updated, and thorough to support post-care financial needs.
