About the role
The Corporate Responsibility Regional Manager at MDW serves as a strategic connector between Southwest Airlines and the vibrant Chicago community, building authentic relationships across civic, government, and private sectors.
Responsibilities
- Build network of community Stakeholders to grow the Southwest brand among trade, civic, philanthropic, advocacy, and resource organizations
- Build positive strategic relationships with established key community influencers, and can recommend the right opportunities as needed
- Demonstrate strong financial stewardship in the planning and oversight of Corporate Responsibility budget. Adhere to prudent and ethical use of Company resources
- Engage socially and facilitate opportunities to interact with key officials, thoughtleaders, and community partners to build long-term mutually beneficial relationships
- Identify strategic opportunities, assessing and demonstrating the viability of partnerships and/or activity to determine appropriate action; and overseeing the launch of associated events
- Represent the Company at various outside meetings and events with community organizations, elected officials, business, or industry events, including delivering company presentations to further our brand affinity
- Create strategic plan for the allocation and deployment of Corporate Responsibility resources and provide counsel back to the business on when and where company should engage
- Drive innovation to ensure community outreach programs are relevant and meet evolving trends/best practices as well as contribute to our inclusion strategy to support corporate goals
- Guide Leadership Engagement strategy development and implementation
- Serve as a convener/facilitator for cross-departmental conversations / projects
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Requirements
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Knowledge of historical events and their causes, indicators, and effects on communities and Cultures
- Skilled in creatively and collaboratively solving problems and creating win-win solutions for Southwest and external partners
- Skilled in understanding the implications of latest information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organizations strategic plan
- Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
- Ability to produce innovative ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Ability to negotiate contracts and measure outcomes
