Special Ed Teacher - Manning, South Carolina

Teaching in a Mildly Intellectually Disabled (MIMD) classroom serving grades 3 through 5, with a class size of approximately 10 students. Managing and deescalating behavioral challenges effectively within the classroom environment. Collaborating closely with a paraprofessional stationed in the classroom. Participating in monthly meetings with Special Education Elementary program directors. Working with general education K-5 teachers through Professional Learning Communities twice weekly. Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Additional exposure to programs for Developmentally Delayed and Moderately Intellectually Disabled students.

• Experience working with students with mild intellectual disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and administrators.
• Strong classroom management and behavioral de-escalation skills.
