About the role
The Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating the multidisciplinary treatment team's efforts for patients under their care, administering, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the nursing process to provide and improve patient outcomes. This role involves acting as a role model for the mission and patient promise of the healthcare organization, adhering to the parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols, and procedures, and utilizing other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice. The RN is expected to critically evaluate evidence for application to clinical practice in their area of specialization. Additionally, the RN's responsibilities include the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirmed; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness. This role also encompasses the administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner and the supervision and teaching of other personnel in the theory and performance of nursing activities. The RN is expected to provide self-directed, effective nursing care to groups of patients and perform other duties as assigned, adhering to Division of Nursing standards. The role is not limited to a specific unit but may require working in various units within the scope of practice, including but not limited to intensive care units, depending on the organization's needs. The RN performs direct patient care activities that are developmental and age-specific for the population served, collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and provides emotional, physical, and spiritual support to patients and their families while supervising assigned team members.

Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Graduate of a school of nursing. 2 years experience in progressive level care. Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Valid AHA Advanced life support certification (ACLS). National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)- must obtain within first 30 days of hire.
