About the role
The Tax Intermediate Reporting Analyst (C11) position operates with low oversight, requiring a high degree of independence and initiative. The candidate will be responsible for Tax Information reporting which includes US as well as other legislations in scope, the position will be responsible for supporting various Citi businesses across geographies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Tax information reporting operations.
- Enhance Tax Information Reporting capabilities in Mumbai in partnership with the Seniors and Leads.
- Ensure strong controls are put in place from and Operations and Audit perspective, ensure satisfactory results for any process reviews done internally or by the Stakeholders. Self-identification of the risks (if any) and remedial and preventive plan.
- Act as a tax / information reporting specialist to execute the FATCA advisory/rollout, Systems conversions/rollouts.
- Executes the tax information reporting processes to products issued by Citi’s business.
- Migration of work into our centralized hub.
- Develop "Go To" processes and implement appropriate procedures/controls to Ensure consistent compliance with Information Reporting & FATCA requirements
- Ensure adherence to KPI’s and KRI’s for the team
- Support the process improvements / reengineering initiatives.
- Support Service Delivery / Engagement model with client constituency and other key stakeholders
- Problem Solving: Resolve basic, moderately, and complex problems based on practice and precedence, assessing the applicability of similar experiences and evaluating options for situations not covered by established procedures.
- Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating strong leadership qualities to drive initiatives and foster common processes and controls within the team.
- Tax Liability Management: Be responsible for the overall management of Citi's tax liabilities, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including related compliance, financial reporting, planning processes.
- Identify and participate in process reengineering & redesign to achieve better controls, compliance and efficiency
- Support audits with IRS and Internal Audit (IA), and any other special audits.
- Participate in self-assessment testing, MCA, audits with IRS Or Citi's IA.
- Ensure tight controls over owned processes to include key controls and Continuity Of Business · Manager Review, validation process of W-8 (All) and W-9 tax forms and related Documentation according to IRS Chapter 3, chapter 61 and FATCA regulations
- Support Technology projects from a technical tax perspective
- Contribute towards departmental requirement to adhere to strict regulatory and Compliance requirements (e.g., Risk & Control, Risk Management, Risk Mitigation, Audit prepared), per IRS and Citi policy. This has a direct impact on the business by ensuring the quality of services provided.
- Perform reviews of written tax policy and procedures, research and respond to inquiries from operational areas
- Handle Tax reporting for US and Non US legislations.
- Policy Application: Use conceptual and practical grounding in applying policies to the business.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

- Min 6 to 8 Years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree graduate
