We have an exciting new opening for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing Finance team in our Director's Office!
Responsibilities
- Research discrepancies regarding past due accounts and process correcting entries as needed.
- Conduct fiscal research to make correcting entries and develop or recommend procedures to improve accounting operations and mitigate future occurrence.
- Perform fiscal year close activities related to accounts payable and fiscal close.
- Analyze fiscal data from multiple sources to reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accurate balances.
- Conduct research in multiple systems to investigate and balance interagency payables at year end.
- Communicate with vendors to explain and resolve potential issues.
- Assist with inquiries regarding vendor setups, obtaining quotes, wage rates, use tax, and payment approval procedures.
- Supervise, train, and review the work of fiscal staff and supervisors for accuracy.
- Advise fiscal staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or a relevant financial field;
- 18 quarter hours or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, budget, or another relevant field.
