Security Screener

The Security Screener position at AdventHealth East Orlando involves performing customer service and safety screening duties, utilizing weapons detection systems, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring facility security. This per diem role requires high school education or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle emergencies. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, monitoring the environment, and promoting a caring work atmosphere. Qualifications strongly preferred include customer service experience and familiarity with weapons detection equipment.

• Provides customer service and safety screening through professional interaction
• Utilizes weapons detection system to screen for weapons
• Validates people's business and issues visitor passes
• Serves as initial greeter to patients, visitors, and employees
• Creates and issues visitor badges
• Screens persons entering facility according to organizational protocols
• Maintains knowledge of facility locations and phone numbers
• Anticipates customer needs and solves problems
• Upholds visitation guidelines and reports suspicious activity
• Monitors environment and assists in emergencies
• Promotes a caring work environment and teamwork
• Uses computer skills to assist with information
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Customer service management experience preferred
• Previous experience utilizing weapons detection equipment strongly preferred
• Customer experience acumen and professionalism strongly preferred
• Reading comprehension, writing, and following directions required
• Interpreting safety rules and regulations required
• Communication skills including clear speech and hearing required
• Computer literacy with basic applications required
• Critical thinking and priority setting required
• Ability to handle crisis and stress

• Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages preferred
