Certified Surgical Tech First Assist

Responsible for indirect pre-/intra operative patient care and assist in the provision of quality individualized care to the patient undergoing operative and/or an invasive procedure. Based on the needs of the department and on training, competence, and skill, the CSFA will perform in the role of first assistant, and/or surgical technologist, including, but not limited to, peer education, advocacy, efficient provision of resources, enforcement of standards and integration and coordination of care across the surgical setting.

• Responsible for indirect pre-/intra operative patient care and assist in the provision of quality individualized care to the patient undergoing operative and/or an invasive procedure.
• Based on the needs of the department and on training, competence, and skill, the CSFA will perform in the role of first assistant, and/or surgical technologist, including, but not limited to, peer education, advocacy, efficient provision of resources, enforcement of standards and integration and coordination of care across the surgical setting.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program, or Military Trained Surgical Assistant, or Graduate of Foreign Medical School (GFMS).
• Completion of First Assist program or Military Trained Surgical Assistant.
• 5 Years minimum relevant experience.
• Certification as Surgical First Assistant as a CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assist) or CSA (Certified Surgical Assistant).
