About the role
Providing specialized pediatric home health care requires both clinical expertise and compassionate patient interaction. This role offers the opportunity to deliver skilled nursing services in a home setting, supporting children with diverse medical needs while enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 pediatric patients, averaging 5-6 visits daily
- Perform skilled nursing tasks including IV therapy, tube feedings, wound care, port access, ostomy care, chest tube management, catheter care, and lab draws
- Utilize electronic medical records systems, specifically Epic and OASIS, for documentation and care coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Respond to call-backs 2-4 times per month between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM as required, with no overnight on-call expectations
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency with Epic and OASIS documentation preferred
- Experience in home health nursing strongly preferred
- Skilled in managing complex pediatric patients with medical devices and therapies
