About the role
Under general supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and according to established policies and procedures, develops and administers established treatment plans for physical therapy patients. At the direction of management, independently develops training and fitness programs.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers established treatment plans for physical therapy patients
- Orients and mentors other trainers
- Develops training and fitness programs
- Assesses patient progress through the program
- Prepares and monitors equipment
- Instructs and prepares patients for treatment
- Reports patients progress to Physical Therapist
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Athletic Trainer Certified Program
- Current NATA Board of Certification Inc. certification
- License to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Michigan
- Three years of experience with a minimum of one year in a clinical setting
- Completed Level 2 of Sports Medicine curriculum
- A minimum of 60 points in the professional development category of the performance appraisal with a minimum of 16 hours of outreach across a minimum of 6 outreach events
