About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator Hospice is responsible for the direction of volunteers and coordination of services provided by volunteers to Hospice while also conducting annual performance reviews of volunteers and resolving patient and caregiver complaints involving the volunteers in coordination with all other Hospice services.

The value you'll bring to the team: Reviews incident reports regarding conflicts between volunteers, patients, and caregivers, investigates and reports on findings, and observes volunteer work activities to evaluate performance. Organizes and participates in volunteer recognition programs. Maintains accurate records and provides timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation. Communicates with Patient Care Managers and others to determine specific needs for volunteers and assigns volunteers to assist in providing patient care services based on assessed needs. Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in-services, and other related activities. Recruits, interviews, selects, and retains volunteers to support the patient census. Trains and monitors volunteers, placing them with patients or departments based on their strengths and weaknesses.
