Responsibilities
- Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to new and existing staff.
- Monitor performance and create performance statistics for tracking.
- Identify errors and work directly with staff to investigate and correct discrepancies.
- Review and release batches for staff.
- Apply online approvals in Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) for payments.
- Assist in completing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR).
Requirements
- Four years of professional experience in accounting.
- OR 18 quarters or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing, finance, or budgeting AND two years of professional accounting experience.
- Experience must include accurately using the ten-key numerical keypad on a computer or adding machine to enter numerical data by touch.
- Entering accurate accounting related information into an electronic accounting system.
- Analyzing and reconciling general or subsidiary ledger for validity and accuracy.
- Providing customer service by listening attentively, identifying needs or issues, providing options, and exercising knowledge of state laws and regulations to assist others.
- Conveying ideas and information in writing, using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the reader.
- Experience using spreadsheet software, such as Excel to find and replace data, create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets, and create pivot tables.
- Experience using computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and personal information web manager, such as Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience performing research, gathering applicable records, and managing hardcopy and electronic accounting records.
