Special Education Reading Specialist

An opportunity is available for a part-time Reading Specialist to provide targeted, structured reading support to a 2nd-grade student in Pittsfield, MA. This position focuses on delivering evidence-based reading interventions designed to improve literacy skills and confidence in young learners.

• Deliver rules-based reading instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Develop and implement reading intervention strategies based on best practices
• Monitor and document student progress regularly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to enhance student outcomes
• Maintain clear communication with families regarding student progress

• Must hold Wilson Reading System certification
• Previous experience working as a Reading Specialist in a school setting
• Ability to provide flexible, part-time support (approximately 5 hours per week)
• Strong understanding of reading interventions and literacy development in early elementary grades
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
