About the role
This full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 academic year, from November 17, 2025, through May 22, 2026, in an elementary school setting in Hopkins, SC. Responsibilities
- Managing classrooms serving students with developmental delays and mild intellectual disabilities
- Teaching a 3rd to 5th grade class of approximately 10 students in a MIMD (Mild Intellectual Disability) program
- Collaborating regularly with paraprofessionals and participating in monthly special education program meetings
- Engaging with general education teachers through PLC meetings twice weekly to support inclusive educational practices
- Implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress according to established education plans
- Supporting other Special Education classrooms and programs as required
Requirements
- Active South Carolina teaching certification with a multi-categorical special education endorsement
- Experience in behavioral classroom management and working with students with developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families
