Special Education Teacher

This full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 academic year, from November 17, 2025, through May 22, 2026, in an elementary school setting in Hopkins, SC. The role focuses on supporting students with developmental delays and mild intellectual disabilities, providing a rewarding environment to make a meaningful impact on young learners.

• Managing classrooms serving students with developmental delays and mild intellectual disabilities
• Teaching a 3rd to 5th grade class of approximately 10 students in a MIMD (Mild Intellectual Disability) program
• Collaborating regularly with paraprofessionals and participating in monthly special education program meetings
• Engaging with general education teachers through PLC meetings twice weekly to support inclusive educational practices
• Implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress according to established education plans
• Supporting other Special Education classrooms and programs as required

• Active South Carolina teaching certification with a multi-categorical special education endorsement
• Experience in behavioral classroom management and working with students with developmental and intellectual disabilities
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families
