This position follows manufacturer instructions for use in all steps of the reprocessing cycle. This role accurately assembles trays according to established lists and uses decontamination and sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. In addition, this position can troubleshoot minor issues with sterilization equipment. This role actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships. The value you'll bring to the team: Rotates assignments among various areas within the department, including decontamination, surgical tray assembly, sterilization processes, and equipment management. Properly identifies and segregates reusable items for decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization, selecting appropriate cleaning methods based on manufacturer instructions. Disassembles and inspects items for damage or missing components, ensuring safe operation of all equipment in the decontamination area. Accurately assembles instruments, complex instrument sets, and other surgical items, recording information in the computer tracking system or paper instrument count sheet. Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for each instrument set, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique. Qualifications The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed: High School Grad or Equivalent Required or Technical/Vocational School Graduate of a surgical technology program Required Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Required or Certified Sterile Processing Tech (CSPD) Required

Responsibilities

  • Providing thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized instrument trays and equipment to various hospital departments.
  • Following manufacturer instructions for use in all steps of the reprocessing cycle.
  • Accurately assembling trays according to established lists and using decontamination and sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
