About the role
This full-time position involves teaching Adaptive Physical Education and Special Education to students in grades K-12. The role is ideal for professionals licensed as Teachers of the Physically Impaired (TPI) or Adaptive Physical Education (APE) educators in Minnesota. The assignment spans a full semester in a K-12 school setting located in Eden Prairie, MN.
Responsibilities
- Provide adaptive physical education instruction to meet the needs of students with physical impairments
- Manage a K-12 caseload, ensuring compliance with individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with other special education and physical education staff to enhance student participation and achievement
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly throughout the semester
Requirements
- Valid Minnesota teaching license for Teacher of the Physically Impaired (TPI) or Adaptive Physical Education (APE)
- Experience working with special education and physical education students across K-12 grade levels
- Ability to develop and implement individualized physical education plans tailored to students with diverse physical and educational needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers
