Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business
  • Evaluate complex risks
  • Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers, cedants, agents and clients
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and initiatives
  • Mentor and train junior underwriters
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and other departments as needed
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks
  • Participate in business development activities, including marketing and presentations
  • Handle all Financial Lines products
  • Report to the Profit Center Manager on portfolio performance, market trends, and underwriting strategies
  • Assist the Profit Center Manager in developing and implementing business plans and budgets
  • Deputize for the Profit Center Manager as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in Financial Lines underwriting
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices
  • Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret financial statements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems
  • Strong understanding of local insurance regulations and compliance requirements
