Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (Part-Time – Non-Permanent) | Work that Matters
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including floors, walls, fixtures, and dispensers, ensuring facilities are sanitary and fully operational.
- Remove trash, graffiti, gum, and debris from restrooms, sidewalks, and surrounding areas to maintain a clean environment.
- Refill restroom supplies, replace air filters and light bulbs, and perform minor maintenance on drains, toilets, and sinks.
- Maintain exterior areas by emptying trash containers, cleaning picnic tables, benches, and display cases, and removing litter from grounds.
- Operate equipment such as plows, blowers, and shovels to remove snow and apply salt to walkways and parking areas during winter months.
- Repair or replace fixtures, plumbing, and minor electrical components, including faucets, dispensers, lights, and heating systems.
- Maintain landscaping by mowing, trimming, weeding, and repairing irrigation systems to keep grounds neat and functional.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions, open and close rest areas, and assist the traveling public as needed.
