Underwriter/ Senior Underwriter, Commercial Insurance (Renewal) - Chubb External Careers

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze account information and make underwriting recommendations and decisions.
  • Contribute to differentiated Customer Retention and Sales results.
  • Develop and establish relationships with brokers.
  • Develop customer-centric renewal strategies that align with the Company’s financial goals.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to an engaging work environment.
  • Handle individual risk inquiries/correspondence from brokers and make appropriate decisions.
  • Monitor booking, retention, account rounding and renewal change accuracy.
  • Contribute to projects as required to improve the business and continually develop personal skills.

Requirements

  • Experience underwriting in any of the following industries is an asset: Manufacturing, Real Estate, Wholesale, Professional Services, Food, Retail.
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently and with success.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to follow-up independently.
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills; experience in dealing with brokers.
  • Completion of University degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of underwriting or other professional work experience.
  • High level of responsiveness and efficiency when working with stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond as a team player, in a multi-task environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Large regional broker relationship management considered an asset.
  • High degree of technical knowledge attained in current job.
  • CIP or CRM designation or completed CIP/CRM courses considered an asset.
