About the role

The Coastal/Puget Sound Sturgeon Monitoring Lead will support the Washington Coastal and Puget Sound Sturgeon Monitoring Study through participation in sturgeon field surveys and monitoring activities

Responsibilities

  • Collect field data
  • Conduct field surveys
  • Assist with sonar monitoring
  • Assist with collecting water samples
  • Observe sturgeon gonads
  • Lead other WDFW and non-WDFW staff
  • Acoustic array maintenance
  • Gear preparation and maintenance
  • Manage project vehicle logs
  • Manage project vessel logs

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Four years of experience as a Scientific Technician
  • Four years of laboratory or field experience as an assistant to a health or safety professional, biologist, chemist, or zoologist
