About the role

Responsibilities
- Review patient files to understand patient’s history
- Assess the health status of patients using a pre-screening process
- Handle and reconstitute specialty pharmaceuticals
- Follow cold chain requirements for medication
- Insertion of peripheral intravenous or establishing access via central lines
- Provide monitoring during and post medication administration
- Develop patient care plan
- Promote patient independence for self-injection
- Document patient care services and managing records
- Maintain knowledge of medical therapies
- Participate in drug and clinic audits
- Actively participate in training and mentoring of new clinic staff
Requirements
- Strong intravenous initiation skills
- CPR certification
- ACLS/PALS certification is an asset
- Ability to work autonomously and proficiently
- Ability to work in a computerized environment
- Maintain yearly practice membership with provincial College
- Ability to work at various locations depending on region
- Ability to work evening and weekends where applicable
