Responsibilities

  • Partner with a team of tax professionals to consistently deliver all sales, use, and property tax obligations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze sales, use, and property tax compliance data; continuously improve processes, and recommend automation integration to improve the end-to-end compliance process and reliability of results.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party consultants and internal parties to resolve indirect tax related issues, including but not limited to notices and business license matters.
  • Assist with indirect tax audits; compile and review requested documentation and audit workpapers, document results, and assist in implementing solutions to reduce future exposure.
  • Prepare month end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
  • Research, analyze, and communicate the impact of indirect tax law developments.
  • Monitor and evaluate business activities for filing responsibilities and nexus exposure to mitigate indirect tax deficiencies.
  • Research, understand, and determine the taxability of the goods and services being sold and purchased by the company.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in a finance function (public or private)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented finance department or similar working environment.
  • Experience with process automation, improvements, and standardization, ensuring enhanced controls and the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Minimum 1 year of indirect tax compliance experience utilizing analytical skills with specific subject matter expertise and tax research skills, including a deep understanding of US retail and healthcare sales taxability concepts.
