About the role

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing tailored instructional plans for students with visual impairments across K-12 grades.
  • Conducting assessments to identify students' needs and adapting materials and teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to support student success.
  • Providing orientation and mobility training as appropriate.
  • Utilizing assistive technology and specialized resources to enhance learning.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in visual impairment education.

Requirements

  • Certification or endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and specialized instructional methods.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
