Licensed Practical Nurse 4 (LPN4) for Coyote Ridge Corrections Center located outside the Tri Cities in Connell, WA
Responsibilities
- Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting and within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code
- Monitor and collect specific data, as directed, about the health status, clinical condition, or situation of individuals, families, groups, and communities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in developing nursing diagnoses and outcomes to be achieved as a result of nursing intervention
- Contribute to the development of the plan of nursing care including identification of approaches, timeframes, and pathways for the delivery of health care
- Carry out the plan of care by performing common therapeutic nursing interventions
- Assist the Registered Nurse in analysis and evaluation of the structure, process and timeframes for service delivery
- Employ appropriate safety techniques to push, pull, lift, and carry loads
- Provide effective communication and documentation
- Protect the confidentiality of health records
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of patient care
- Communicate and assist in the coordination of pertinent information to health care providers for patients scheduled for community-based care
- Delegate and assign tasks to other staff as appropriate
- Supervise and assign tasks to subordinate staff on the nursing team
- Delegate and assign responsibility for patient care to other Licensed Practical Nurses and assistive nursing personnel
- Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and the results of patient care assigned to other personnel
- Supervise the staff to whom functions have been delegated and report the outcomes of delegated nursing tasks to the Registered Nurse or other supervising health care provider
- Self-evaluate and practice professional nursing conduct at all times
- Be in attendance, capable, and competent to practice nursing as assigned
- Using established methods, brief appropriate personnel on pertinent information, before departing from duty, to ensure continuity of patient care
Requirements
- Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- OR An unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State and completion of the MLS demographic survey
- Two years’ experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR
- Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, perform data entry and word processing, and communicate via email, as well as other programs that may be needed to complete assigned work
Benefits
- Shift differential in the amount of $2.50 per hour for evening shift and night shift work
- Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses will receive shift differential in the amount of $2.50 per hour for evening shift and night shift work
- Employees may also qualify for one or both of these supplemental shift premiums in addition to the above
- One dollar ($1.00) per hour during any hours assigned to work from 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
- Three dollars ($3.00) per hour during any hours worked from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight
