About the role
This position is accountable for supporting and maintaining the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, activities, and control measures for the site, as well as coordinating these efforts with various compliance programs, to protect all personnel and physical assets. This position helps ensure compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements under federal, state, and local law and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and initiate programs and processes in partnership with site management to reduce frequency and severity of occupational injuries, illnesses, and property losses
- Integrate risk/loss controls into daily operations with the organization
- Support employee led safety committees
- Maintain incident management systems and processes, including change procedures and documentation, and safety observation and hazard tracking systems
- Record and analyze incident records and make recommendations regarding corrective action, emphasizing proactive intervention
- Support implementation of practical compliance with safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations
- Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training
- Foster a positive safety culture through professional and proactive interactions with employees and maintaining a strong shop-floor presence
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have an associate’s degree or higher or two (2) years of work experience in environmental, health and safety
