Radiation Therapy Technologist

The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription, follows instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, prepares immobilization devices and/or shielding blocks for patients receiving treatment, and calculates mu from appropriate graphs, and utilizes computer plans.

• Applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription
• Follows instructions of the Radiation Oncologist
• Prepares immobilization devices and/or shielding blocks for patients receiving treatment
• Calculates mu from appropriate graphs, and utilizes computer plans
• Performs dosimetry and calibration procedures as indicated

• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Completion of ACR approved program in Radiation Therapy
• Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist
• Fluoroscopy certification required
• Fire Safety card required (must obtain within 90 days of start date)
