About the role
The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription, follows instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, prepares immobilization devices and/or shielding blocks for patients receiving treatment, and calculates mu from appropriate graphs, and utilizes computer plans.
Responsibilities
- Applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription
- Follows instructions of the Radiation Oncologist
- Prepares immobilization devices and/or shielding blocks for patients receiving treatment
- Calculates mu from appropriate graphs, and utilizes computer plans
- Performs dosimetry and calibration procedures as indicated
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Completion of ACR approved program in Radiation Therapy
- Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist
- Fluoroscopy certification required
- Fire Safety card required (must obtain within 90 days of start date)
