Special Education Teacher

A Special Education Teacher position is available at a high school in Chandler, AZ, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on delivering instruction and support customized to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and applicable education standards.

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans based on student IEPs
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for holistic student support
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to meet learning goals
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
• Comply with all special education laws, regulations, and school policies

• Valid teaching credential in Special Education or equivalent certification
• Experience working with high school students with diverse disabilities
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment tools, and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create engaging learning experiences
