About the role
The goal of the Marketing & Communications Intern Program is to attract and develop self-motivated individuals who are interested in the field of Marketing & Communications. As interns, you will be exposed to a challenging work experience with planned activities giving you insight into business and the many career options that lie ahead for you. With many company-wide and community outreach events, you will have the opportunity to interact and network with many levels of leadership and management. This internship will support the Communications team. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. The company does not sponsor/support H-1B petitions, TN, or Forms I-983/STEM OPT, for this role. The Marketing & Communications Intern Program provides qualified students an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand business experience and receive valuable on-the-job training. Interns are provided exposure to all levels of management and have the chance to collaborate and network with other development programs during work assignments, and social events.
Specific responsibilities include: Write and edit copy for inside (Travelers’ intranet), mass email, digital signage, social media and other internal or external channels used to promote enterprise content. Develop feature stories and series of articles for inside. Create social media content for Enterprise initiatives. Researching topics and conducting interviews with employees to develop features and profiles. Use social media monitoring tools to see what is trending and being said about Travelers. Prepare content received from editorial to publish on the intranet site using the TeamSite database. Collaborate on communications plans for company initiatives and projects. Assist with internal and external coverage and other tasks at the Travelers Championship. Assist with promotion and execution of the Travelers Championship. Develop skills including business and feature writing, copyediting, graphic/web design and client management. Collaborate with other interns on a group project as directed. Support other communications projects and campaigns as needed.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater Currently enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate program with a focus on Communications, English, Marketing Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong editorial skills Intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills Experience using Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Instagram for a business Experience writing and editing social media copy Design experience a plus Ability to think outside of the box and stay in touch with the latest the digital trends Basic project management skills Basic analytical skills What is a Must Have? Obtained or pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree required. You must be 18 years of age to apply. Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
