Responsibilities
- Prepare complex journal vouchers and adjusting entries to implement shared services allocations and ensure compliance with GAAP, OFM regulations, and to internal fiscal policies.
- Provide input to the Budget Team on any issues related to OneWA as it relates to JVs.
- Develop and distribute pre-close financial reports.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of mont-end, quarter-end, and year-end shared services reports with the Budget Team.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Perform in-depth reconciliation and analysis of grant activity, appropriations, spending authorities, and fund sources to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Prepare and present clear, timely, and accurate financial reports for internal Budget Office use.
- Participate in monthly and fiscal year-end close activities.
- Conduct financial analysis and research in support budget analysts and the Budget Director, contributing to budget planning, expenditure monitoring, and informed decision-making.
- Participate and contribute to OneWA implementation and attend related meetings and trainings, to include providing input on issues related to budget-related journals, reports, closing, reconciliations, and other budget issues critical to the implementation of OneWA.
- Conduct special research and analysis on financial and related issues.
Requirements
- Professional experience may substitute for the required education but not for the accounting credit hours.
- Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and finance.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively increasing responsibilities working in an accounting field.
- Ability to: Be flexible and pivot focus based on business needs and changing initiatives.
- Successfully complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate advanced-level knowledge on Microsoft Excel and Word.
