About the role
A part-time occupational therapist is needed immediately to provide services through the end of the current school year at an elementary school located in Sterling Heights, MI.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of 15-20 children aged 3 to 12 years who have needs related to fine motor skills—such as handwriting, scissor use, feeding—and sensory processing.
- Conducting assessments, writing detailed reports, and participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to support each student’s progress.
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with credentials suitable for school-based practice
- Experience with pediatric populations, particularly in elementary school settings
- Proficiency in fine motor and sensory integration techniques
- Ability to complete thorough assessments and detailed report documentation
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration during IEP meetings
