Software Quality Engineer II – Accessibility Specialist
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand our test automation framework and test coverage
- Develop working knowledge of the entire application stack including tests at all levels
- Groom and prune tests at all levels to ensure optimal coverage and effective deduplication
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of digital assets
- Participate in design and development reviews to proactively identify potential accessibility challenges
- Provide training sessions and workshops to developers, designers, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and with the wider product and development team
- Identify, share, and nurture the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability
- Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability, and quality
- Strive for the fastest feedback possible
- Configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments
- Track and communicate test results in a timely, effective, and automated manner
- Work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems
- Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees
Requirements
- Four years of programming/development experience preferred
- 2 years experience preferred in evaluating digital products, including websites and applications, for accessibility from the perspective of use
- Certifications from IAAP or DHS Trusted Tester or similar
- Experience with tools such as Axe Development tools, Andi, Wave, etc.
- Experience with screen readers: NVDA, Voiceover, Jaws, Talkback, or Narrator
