About the role

Software Quality Engineer II – Accessibility Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand our test automation framework and test coverage
  • Develop working knowledge of the entire application stack including tests at all levels
  • Groom and prune tests at all levels to ensure optimal coverage and effective deduplication
  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of digital assets
  • Participate in design and development reviews to proactively identify potential accessibility challenges
  • Provide training sessions and workshops to developers, designers, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and with the wider product and development team
  • Identify, share, and nurture the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability
  • Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability, and quality
  • Strive for the fastest feedback possible
  • Configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments
  • Track and communicate test results in a timely, effective, and automated manner
  • Work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees

Requirements

  • Four years of programming/development experience preferred
  • 2 years experience preferred in evaluating digital products, including websites and applications, for accessibility from the perspective of use
  • Certifications from IAAP or DHS Trusted Tester or similar
  • Experience with tools such as Axe Development tools, Andi, Wave, etc.
  • Experience with screen readers: NVDA, Voiceover, Jaws, Talkback, or Narrator
