Laboratory Assistant III

The Laboratory Assistant III performs various laboratory support procedures in assigned areas, which may include phlebotomy and/or specimen processing in clinical and anatomical pathology areas.

• May perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture for all age groups.
• Loads preanalytical instruments or delivers specimens to the testing department.
• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
• May perform periodic preventive instrument maintenance and quality assurance procedures.

• High School Grad or Equivalent Required
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience Required
