About the role

The Assistant General Counsel – M&A’s primary duties will be to support mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures across the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance space.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for M&A and strategic investment activity
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents
  • Lead and coordinate legal due diligence
  • Partner with regulatory and compliance teams
  • Collaborate with business leads and teams
  • Support integration planning and execution
  • Manage and direct outside counsel
  • Stay informed of market trends and regulatory changes

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 4+ years of legal experience focused on M&A transactions
  • Strong working knowledge of P&C insurance industry structures
  • Experience working with or advising on insurance regulatory filings and approvals
