About the role
The Assistant General Counsel – M&A’s primary duties will be to support mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures across the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance space.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for M&A and strategic investment activity
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents
- Lead and coordinate legal due diligence
- Partner with regulatory and compliance teams
- Collaborate with business leads and teams
- Support integration planning and execution
- Manage and direct outside counsel
- Stay informed of market trends and regulatory changes
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 4+ years of legal experience focused on M&A transactions
- Strong working knowledge of P&C insurance industry structures
- Experience working with or advising on insurance regulatory filings and approvals
