About the role
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to support speech-language pathologists in providing therapeutic and consultative services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Support students with communication disorders through individual and group therapy sessions.
- Help gather data and document student progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Prepare materials and resources for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student communication needs.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute information as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support communication development as directed by the SLP.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or equivalent.
- Eligibility for SLPA licensure or certification in the state of practice, where applicable.
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Knowledge of IDEA and school-based special education procedures preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with children or in educational settings preferred but not required.
