About the role

A results-driven UV R&D Chemist to join our innovation team focused on wood coatings. This role involves developing, testing, and optimizing coating formulations for wood substrates, with an emphasis on performance, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and develop new UV-curable wood coating products
  • Conduct lab-scale experiments and scale-up trials to validate product performance
  • Evaluate raw materials and optimize formulations for cost, durability, and environmental impact
  • Perform analytical testing (viscosity, adhesion, gloss, hardness, etc.) and interpret results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, application, sales, marketing, and quality assurance
  • Maintain detailed records of experiments, formulations, and test results
  • Generate TDS for new products
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Support customer trials and provide technical service when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Pure Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field
  • Experience in coatings R&D, preferably in industrial wood coatings
  • Knowledge of coating chemistry, resin systems, and application methods
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and safety protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
